Telling Friends “No”

Sometimes in our lives we come to situations where you have to tell a friend or someone close to you, “No” on an issue or an idea. A lot of us just don’t ever want to have to do that. I mean let’s be honest - it fucking sucks to tell someone “no” when they really want you to say “yes” or worse, when they have no idea it’s coming.
From my standpoint, though, I would recommend going ahead and telling your friend the truth. Not only will it get you out of a sticky situation (if it so happens that you’re in one), but you’ll feel better about it at the end.
The ONLY time when I would advise concocting a lie about the “no” that you give is if you’re dealing with a person who is out of his or her mind and has a more active imagination than you have active motions! And yes, I understand that this happens from time to time. Who can help it if their friend turns out to be someone who would flip shit over you telling them the truth? Well, frankly, YOU can help it by just doling out the truth.
It’s a ridiculous and oft overused cliche, but - the truth WILL set you free. So just do it.
