The People Who Bother Me at the Gym

So I had a marathon session at the gym tonight - I spent some three hours there overall. However, I noticed something while I was there that just bothered the hell out of me. It wasn’t a smell, it wasn’t a broken machine, or even the fact that the place was crowded - it was some of the type of people that were there.
You know the kid I’m talking about - the one with the ripped, chiseled body who wears extremely tight, elastic tank tops, flimsy pants (or shorts) that show off and highlight too much, and sits in front of the mirror all day lifting a 30 pound dumbell doing bicep curls! This is the kid who goes to the gym to be seen there! How pathetic can some people be?!? These are the same folks who come to the gym with their hair done and leave the gym without a hair out of place! Guys - you can run your head under the faucet in the gym to get the gel out…unless you came to the gym with the gel in your hair on purpose.
I can’t tell you how many of these muscleheads were at the gym tonight - there must be a convention in town and I wasn’t informed about it. It just seems so useless to me; why pay the $51 for the monthly membership if you’re only going to go to try to pick up a date and stare at your body in the mirror? Why spend the money?
You can go find a playmate at the club or on campus or anywhere - for free. You can stare at your ripped abs and muscle-laden arms in your own bathroom - for free. Why bother coming out and taking up space in the gym when there are actually a lot of people who are there to work out?
That really bothered me today - and one of these days I’m going to go off on this blog about the old men who sit in the locker room 24/7…staring. Constantly staring…
