Evangelical Christians?

You know, I was just wondering. The Democrats lost big in the last election and ever since then they’ve been harping about these “evangelical christians” that put Bush back in the White House. Ummm, I voted for President Bush and I’m not an evangelical christian. What does that even mean?
Are they talking about the folks out in the Bible Belt? The ones who have been voting Republican for the past 50 years? If so, then how does their continued Republican voting all of a sudden make them the reason for Bush getting back into the White House? Hmmm…come to think of it, these are the same people that have been voting for Republican candidates for the last century!
So tonight one of the news shows is going to have a report on the evangelical christians and how they put Bush back into the White House. You won’t see a report about the ultra-liberal status quo of Californians or the extreme liberalism present in New Jersey. No, you’ll see a report about people doing what they’ve been doing for the past century.
And people wonder why the Nightly News is going to hell. They wonder why no one wants to watch the CBS, NBC, or ABC evening newscasts…well, when you’re reporting on regularities and calling them abnormalities - what do you expect?
