Playing Catch-Up Already

Class started last Tuesday and I’m already playing catch-up with my work! You see kiddies, once you reach a certain level of schooling you have to have work prepared for the first day of class (last week for me). However, since I didn’t get my syllabi until last week and since I didn’t get my books until last week - I’m already a week behind in my work!

But the good thing about my schedule this semester is that I only have class on Tuesdays. This means that I have a full five more days to get my work done! Of course I have a bunch of other stuff planned for those days, but it’s good to know that I have time to get my work done before I’m another week behind.

In my higher education policy class we have to choose a topic for our research papers. I’m thinking of looking at something that’s near and dear to my heart - the employment rates of college graduates in comparison to the tuition rates that they pay to attend their institutes of higher learning. That might be fun.

One of my roommates just came in and told me that he had to do an ice breaker in class. This kid is in his fourth year at college and they’re making him do ice-breakers in class. That doesn’t make any sense! Ice breakers are a waste of time. If you’re not going to be a sociable human being and make friends, an ice breaker isn’t going to do it. I have no problems with the professor making everyone go around and say their names and their majors or master’s program during the first class, but being made to yawn to see if other students yawn…come on.
