It’s almost that time…

There’s preseason NFL football on the tube, college students are packing up their cars and heading back to campus (and getting sick at the cost of their books), high school football teams and marching bands are at the school all day practicing for the coming seasons, and the stores are putting out a lot of white-lined loose leaf paper onto their shelves.

Fall is almost here!

This is easily my second favorite season of the year (with winter coming in at number one). I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve been going to school for something like 22 years straight or because I absolutely love watching football at all levels (anyone else excited for college ball?), but I love September 1st through the second or so week of November. Not only is there football galore on the tube, but you’ve got the World Series in October! How great is that?

And on top of that guy stuff, there’s the nice surroundings of the autumn season. Come on, you know sometime around this past Wednesday when it was seasonably cool outside (re: not 99% humidity) and you were able to drive with the windows down in the car instead of putting the AC up to “max,” you were pretty excited. Be honest! It’s a great time of the year!

Not only do all of the BENNYs leave Monmouth County (leaving us normals to…well, normalcy), but the kiddies are all back to school, and people begin to dig in and get ready for the end of the year work at their jobs. I guess I’m also a dork because I enjoy doing a good hard day’s worth of work and it always seemed to me like everyone was working a little harder after the summer months (must be all of that vacation!).

Soon the leaves will change, the air will get colder, I’ll be cramming for my last set of mid-term and final exams before I get that Master’s Degree, and you never know…we might even see a snowflake or two in a few months!
