Wow! What a great game!

If anyone ever wanted to know why college football is so much better than professional football - last night’s game is the perfect example why!

What an awesome story, too. USC, with their ridiculous win streak. Texas and their win streak. USC looking to get its third national championship in a row. Texas out to prove that they’re good enough to be the best in the nation. USC with the talents of two Heisman trophy winners. Texas with overlooked excellence of Vince Young. It was a classic Goliath vs. a not-so-weak David battle.

Everyone talks about how great Reggie Bush is and I won’t deny that at all. But everyone should shut up for a minute and look at the command that Vince Young has of the field when he’s playing on it. It’s impressive. Bush may be good at jumping around and making fantastic plays, but Young has one of the greatest field presences that I’ve seen in a while.

And add to the story above that at one point, USC was up by twelve points…

Then Texas makes an amazing comeback, Young leads his team to yet another 4th Quarter come-from-behind victory, and we have a new national collegiate champion! Amazing.

Anyone who watched that game last night and didn’t think that it was worth their time is weird. That game was the best college football game I saw this season.

Now let’s see if the SuperBowl can live up to the collegiate standards of excitement…
