Just a question.

If it’s an abnormally warm winter (some 20 - 30 degrees warmer than usual) and there is a gigantic decrease in the need for home heating oil, then why are gas prices going up? Remember this past fall when everyone was going ape shit about the winter cold and how the weather would mean an increase in consumption of home heating oil, and thus an increase in gas prices? Well, it’s warm outside! People are driving around with their windows down! Why are gas prices going up?

There is some type of bullshit, corporate scam going on. Has to be. ExxonMobil’s ridiculous $8 billion profit in ONE quarter has got all of those bastard oil executives greedy. When is someone going to do something about this? There is NO need for gas prices to go up. As a matter of fact, everyday that goes by brings more functionality to those previous damaged and defunct Louisiana refineries…gas prices should be on their way down!

Someone have an explanation that is rooted in reality? And don’t give me that “world demand is increasing because of China and blah blah blah,” crap. Do the math, for our gas prices to have doubled and almost tripled in the last three years the amount of world consumption would have had to at least double - and it hasn’t.

What the hell is going on here?
