Breaking Free From a Funny Situation

Some of you may recall some of the writings that I’ve posted on here about the awkward “business” that I’ve worked for over the last few years. First I was working there extremely full-time, then I was working there on a regular full-time basis doing more excelled work (no pay raise), then I moved to a little less than full-time, and for the last year and a half or more I’ve been working part-time in a consulting/management situation at one of the organization’s new properties.
It’s been absolute hell.
You have to understand a bit about one of the company’s principals. He literally hires random guys that he meets in the club. And because he’s ass crazy, he not only hires them, but he makes them feel like they’re executive vice presidents. It’s hilarious!
Why is it hilarious?
Well, for the most part it’s funny because he usually winds up firing them within a week or two (they stop putting out). However, it’s also funny because this guy puts an ego trip on these losers and they walk around like their shit doesn’t stink in a company of 10 people.
LOL!!!
Ahhh…it’s also funny (to me at least) because most of the guys that the principal hires have absolutely no skills. And not just do they have no skills, but they generally are trying to hide a checkered past/present or try to cover their inability to communicate by using the same, big words over and over again. Folks, if you’ve never seen an uneducated person try to sound educated, it’s fucking phenomenally hilarious! And if you want a real hoot, watch these people interact with those who are “taken” by their bullshit! LOL!
Oh man, it’s been funny. However, as you might imagine, dealing with these types of pathetic quirks really makes you go nuts. Professionally, I’m already juggling two jobs, opening my own business, and some volunteer work that I do for the local Chamber of Commerce. Dropping the lowest paying and highest stress of my two jobs will certainly help me maximize my efficiency, I think.
In any event, I’m breaking free from this funny little situation - but in my resignation I do leave the Owner the option to call me in the event that he fires all of those half-wits who are making the entire organization into a laughing stock. Thought I would be a nice guy… ![]()
