The Balrog’s Lair wrestling site has been transformed into TBLWrestling.com! In a redesign that took months to complete, nearly 5000 pages have been updated with a sleeker, more modern look. Please feel free to head over to the wrestling end of this site to take a look at the new design and please, feel free to offer your comments on the design. Welcome to the new TBLWrestling.com! In a redesign that has literally taken the TBL Staff months to complete, the entire whole of this site has been redeveloped with a new, sleeker, updated look.
Please, if you find any inaccuracies in the code or if the site does not load properly for you - let us know! As with any new design, there are undoubtedly a few kinks that will arise and need to be worked out. We thank you in advance for helping us with this monumental project.
I learned some things doing the redesign of TBL. First, this site has nearly 5000 pages of content. I repeat. This site has nearly FIVE THOUSAND PAGES OF CONTENT! Folks, you will not find that anywhere else on the internet, period.
Second, I re-learned that we have a truly dedicated Webmaster in Eddie. Throughout the entire redesign process, Eddie checked the layout of the new site and offered comments in YOUR name. That’s right - you had a worthy advocate in the planning of this redesign in our own Webmaster, Eddie.
Finally, I learned that this site is still an internet original. I started The Balrog’s Lair over a decade ago as a little personal webpage where I could put up some thoughts. To see it as a leader and a consistent innovater over ten years later means a lot to me…and I have you great fans to thank for it. You mean a lot to me.
A few things about the new site before I go. You’ll notice that the new index page is ad-free. That’s our way of saying thank you for continuing to come to TBL. You’ll also notice that we will begin referring to the site as TBLWrestling.com and not The Balrog’s Lair. This is a marketing decision that we made in hopes of bringing new visitors to the site. We think it’ll be successful.
There are also more opportunities for you to get involved on the site as we’ve created a “Top Story Poll” accessible on the front page of the site and an internal poll on the rest of the pages of the site. We’re working on doing something about the forums - we don’t want to bring them back unless they are as great as they once were.
And before I really end this, I just want to point out that we’ve tried to move the advertisements to a less in-your-face place on the internal website design. Just another way that we wanted to say “thank you” for all of the years of loyalty that you’ve given us. Thank you!
