The crazed ideologues that comprise the Islamic faith are still at it. Yesterday, a bunch of “scholars” demanded that Pope Benedict be removed from the papacy. Maybe these “scholars” can’t comprehend what a simple quote is…so we shall explain.

When a person uses another person’s words from the past or present, that person is “quoting” the cited person’s words. Complicated? I don’t think so…I never thought so until this debacle going on the in Mideast either! Let’s review quickly. When I say something that someone else said, I am quoting that person.

Understand?

Ok.

So the Pope “quoted” a Byzantine emperor who said that Islam was “inhuman” because it professes spreading the “faith by the sword.” STOP! Review. The Pope said what someone else said hundreds of years ago as he was giving a speech - this is not original thought, rather, this is what we call a quote. See that? Putting new lessons to use already!

Why did he use this quote?

He was giving a speech about how violence and religion do not mix. The core of his speech was that violence is completely against what our God stands for (and for those of you wondering, Jews, Christians of all faiths, and Muslims all worship the same God).

So, given the information above, how can any “scholar” call for the Pope to be removed? First of all, shut up. The bulk of your religion’s followers are made fools of by the minority who are terrorists and blow themselves up for fun. Take care of your own damn problems first and then worry about how the rest of the world sees you second. Second, you make no sense. If you are going to call for the removal of any religious or world leader who dares to call a spade a spade, then you have little hope left in this world.

The world and popular culture is demanding that we leave an age of extreme political correctness and Pope Benedict is a hero for being the first world leader to step out and make a definitive, obvious statement. It IS disgusting that the Islamic faith professes spreading the faith by the sword. That one line in the Koran has incited hundreds of thousands of people to become what we now call “terrorists.” That’s disgusting. Religions should not preach death. And it’s an even greater shame that Islam is a religion based on peace, but that fanatics take that one line in the Koran and use it to perverse an entire religion.

These “scholars” ought to find a way to figure out how to control their own people before they worry about someone pulling back the curtain on their sideshow act.

As I’ve said before, the Pope is not wrong here. He is just the bravest man in a room full of politically correct has-beens.
