Home Prices Suck All Over

Spending this weekend in Morris County has allowed me to look at the home prices up in this part of the state. Yeah, it’s no better than down in Monmouth County. Unfortunately, I don’t know the rental or real estate sales market up here as well as I do down in Monmouth, so I can’t make any judgment on why the home prices are so high.
All I know is that the process of trying to find a home to buy in New Jersey that is both affordable and in an area where you want to live is like finding a needle in a haystack. It sucks.
Of course, I could go into a huge diatribe about how unfair it is that the state has so many programs set-up to help certain segments of our population buy a house and completely disregards other segments. I could also talk about how it’s ridiculous that the STATE has redlined certain geographic areas as places where they do not direct certain monies to be used for home purchases…
But what’s the point? This state will continue to vote for the same schemers it has voted for in the past (both Democrat and Republican) and we’ll stay in this state of insanity even longer.

I would encourage you to read many of the bubbleblogs out there. The house price runup will be negated by inflation and actual price drops so save your money because in is cheaper to rent.
